| NEW YEAR'S PARTY AT DEPOT!
The officers and Board of Directors would like to extend greetings of the season and their best wishes for a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year to the entire membership.
What better way to ring out the old and ring in the new than to participate in our annual New Year's Party celebration at Cinema III and the beautifully decorated historic Depot? There are still tickets available ($100 per person) for tha gala event, our one formal (and 75% tax deductible) event of the year that has been a great success over the past four New Years.
A full page of information went out in the last newsletter, but to refresh your memories and inform new members - we start with a free showing of a quality film at Cinema III, then drive to the Depot for cocktails, superb dinner hors d'oeuvres, a sinful array of desserts, live music and dancing, and of course champagne at midnight.
Should any member, their relatives, or friends, like to join us for the festivities, call Mike Bergeon (547-2742) or Mary Adams (547-0348). Our capacity at the Depot is limited, so please let either of them know ASAP. All proceeds for the evening go toward the continuing renovation and restoration of the Harsha House Museum.

HELP DECORATE THE DEPOT
To prepare for the coming event, there will be a decorating party at the Depot on Monday, December 29 at 9:00 a.m. Anyone who would like to join in and work off the after effects of an overindulged-in Christmas weekend is welcome to lend a hand, even if their sole skills are those of a sidewalk superintendent. The crew will need all the supervision it can get. A large pot of industrial strength coffee will be on hand.

COMMITTEE PLANNED FOR CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION
Charlevoix received its articles of incorporation as a city on June 1, 1905. To celebrate this as a centennial event in 2005, the Society would like to convene a panel of volunteers throughout 2004 to discuss ways in which the occasion might be properly commemorated, in conjunction with various city and civic organizations. Anyone willing to serve on this committee please call the Harsha House.

CHRISTMAS DINNER A DELIGHTFUL EVENING
The annual Christmas dinner at the Grey Gables on December 2 was one of our finest evenings of the year. Fifty-one of us gathered to honor Betsy Reynolds for her thirteen years of service to the Society, the last ten of them as Director of the museum. As a retirement gift she received a thank-you bonus which she will apply toward purchase of a long-desired camera, honorary life membership in the Society, and a framed and matted photo of her favorite winter scene, a frosted channel in winter (February in the 2004 calendar). Mike Berst, master dulcimer player from Eastport, provided a special atmosphere of seasonal music both before and after dinner.
