As reported in last month’s newsletter, the Society’s patron/membership year is now on a calendar basis rather than a split-year basis to correspond with our new fiscal calendar year. Having one function go from July through June and the other January through December caused too much confusion, so the Board of Directors decided to consolidate all operations under one time span umbrella.
Therefore, enclosed you will find a membership renewal envelope for 2007. Again, this pertains to annual members only! Check your name and address label. If there is nothing in parentheses beside your name, that means you are an annual member. If you see a (P), (L), (RH), or (C), or any combination of, this means you are a patron sponsor, life member, Ralph Hamilton Circle member, or a complimentary member and you should ignore the envelope. These envelopes have to be included in every piece of mailing because of uniform weight requirements for fourth-class bulk mail. Patrons and Ralph Hamilton Circle members will be contacted individually. If any annual members wish to renew at a higher level, or a complimentary member wishes to join the Society at any level, please feel free to utilize the envelope to do so.
You may call the Harsha House Tuesday through Saturday to check your membership status. We appreciate your understanding of this one-time change that will facilitate everyone’s knowledge of where they stand dues-wise, and your continuing support.

A THANK YOU TO MARILYN BOSS
Beginning in 1985, Society member and Past President Marilyn Boss clipped news items and photos from the Charlevoix Courier for the Harsha House library. She recently asked to be relieved of this responsibility, and former Harsha House director Betsy Reynolds has volunteered to take her place. Marilyn managed to fill well over thirty thick binders of invaluable local lore for our shelves. We would like to extend to her our appreciation and deepest thanks for over twenty years of unswerving dedication in helping to preserve Charlevoixís history.
