The time has arrived for the much-anticipated conclusion of Dr. Jack MacKenzie’s History of Charlevoix Street Names Program. Jack’s first program, presented to a very appreciative overflow audience last October, was only able to cover the first part of the alphabet. Part II will cover the remainder of the streets with the origins of their names and plenty of anecdotes and “by the ways” and “did you knows?” along the way.
In keeping with the tradition of previous years when we celebrated February with potluck Valentine theme parties, we ask everyone attending to bring a Valentine, either signed or from “A Secret Admirer” as their entrance ticket. We will have a decorated box at the door to collect them. They will later be distributed to shut-ins and the elderly who may not receive one. You don’t have to stop at just onebring several cards if you wish.
And in keeping with this sweetest of holidays, we will have a selection of desserts on hand. Please join us for what will be a most enjoyable evening.
When: Tuesday, February 6, at 7 p.m.
Where: The Depot

PATRON SPONSORSHIPS & ANNUAL DUES
We’d like to remind our Patrons that sponsorships for 2007 are due any time. Reminder letters were mailed in December, explaining that our fiscal year was now running from January to December, not July through June to avoid split-year confusion at all Patron/member levels. If any Patrons are unsure of their previous level of support, call the Harsha House for information.
Patronages and Ralph Hamilton Circle Memberships contribute toward the maintenance of the Harsha House Museum and Depot, preservation of artifacts and our priceless photo collection, mounting exhibits, sponsoring events, presenting programs and social functions, funding scholarships, and the day-to-day needs of maintaining a viable and now highly visible part of the community.
About twenty dues envelopes stapled in the December newsletters came loose in Post Office handling, so any annual or Ralph Hamilton Circle members who did not receive one, also call the Harsha House and we’ll send one out immediately.

PROGRAM OVERSEER NEEDED
The Society needs someone who could oversee our program needs at the Depot, not scheduling the programs themselves, but setting up and taking down chairs, supervising the buying of, making, or having made the items on the refreshment table including coffee and tea, and cleaning up afterward. These functions could probably be accomplished through a small volunteer committee. Call the Harsha House if youíd like to lend a hand a few times a year.

ANNUAL REPORT
The 2006 Annual Report is almost completed and will probably be available by February 1. This report summarizes our activities for the year and our financial standing. It will be mailed to all Patrons and Ralph Hamilton Circle members, will be available at the Harsha House, can be mailed by request, and will also be placed on our website.
