The water intake crib for the plant's cooling system arrived in Charlevoix by barge on October 11, 1961 and was temporarily stored on the land where the current Edgewater Inn is now. The Park Avenue corner can be seen at rear left, the bridge at rear right. This crib would be taken out and sunk 1500 feet from the plant's shore five days later. Its huge intake lines can be seen at left.
