The following event dates and information about the Charlevoix Historical Society are offered for publication in your community calendar for 2008. (Subject to change.) February 2:

Annual Valentine Potluck & Silent Movie Night, the Depot, 6:00. P.M.

March 2:

A History of Shipbuilding in Charlevoix Program by Harsha House Museum Co-Director Steve Goslee, the Depot, 7:00 P. M.

April 6 (tentative):

A History of Bands in Charlevoix Program by Northwest Academy Director Gary Stutzman, the Depot, 7:00 P. M. (This event may be rescheduled to June. Call for information.)

May 4:

The Life and Works of Bob Miles, Charlevoix Photographer and Historian 1930 – 1972 Program, by Harsha House Museum Co-director David L. Miles, the Depot, 7:00 P. M.

June: Event To Be Announced
July 13:

Annual Business Meeting and Election of Officers, Program TBA, the Depot, 7:00 P. M.

July 23: 

Annual Venetian Weekend Potluck and Fireworks, the Depot, 7:00 P. M.

July 28: 

Earl Young Stone Houses Tour sponsored by the Historical Society, 10 A. M. to 4 P. M. Eight houses will be open—two in Boulder Park, two on Thistledowns Lane on Round Lake, three in the Park Avenue Block, and the Sucher/Radandt house on upper Park Avenue near the hospital.  (Call for information.)

September 7: 

Annual Ice Cream Social and Volunteer Recognition evening, the Depot, 7:00 P. M.

October 5: 

Annual Harvest Potluck and Entertainment, the Depot, 6:00 P. M.

November 3: 

Annual Fundraising All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner at the Villager Pub, 5-9 P. M.

December 7:

Annual Christmas Dinner, the Grey Gables, 6:00 P. M.

All events are open to the public except the Venetian Potluck, and at no charge except for the Sunset Cruise and the Christmas Dinner.

The Charlevoix Historical Society is a non-profit organization whose objective is to bring together people who are interested in the history and heritage of the Charlevoix area and in the protection and preservation of places and objects of historical value. The Society sponsors many events throughout the year to which the public is invited.
